RIP Satoru Iwata

Post by kerr9000 on Mon Jul 13, 2015 3:09 am

So Satoru Iwata President of Nintendo has passed away at the age of 55, may he rest in peace.his death came about due to a bile duct growth, which he had been previously treated for.

It look like Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto are left in charge for the moment

Satoru Iwata started his gaming career when he joined HAL Laboratory following his graduation from university. He became the company’s president in 1993. Iwata became a part of Nintendo in 2000, and took over as president in 2002. No idea who will be chosen next once the dust settles or how this will effect the company. I guess we will see.

Just heard about this and I'm completely shocked, I didn't even know his health problems were that serious, well not life threatening anyway. 55 is so young, very sad. RIP

Very sad.

I didn't realise how young he was to have taken over from Yamauchi in 2002
