The Vita Thread
The Vita Thread
I just updated my Vita firmware up to 3.35 but it's missing the promised "Live on PlayStation" app. Anybody else got it?

You get the app through the Vita store, it's under Apps>Social

Re: The Vita Thread
Thanks TPM - I guess I should have figured that one out
.
I just assumed it would be baked into the firmware like the PS4 remote play app.

I hadn't used my Vita for ages until I updated it about a week ago. I'm liking the Uncharted theme though, it's free too!

Since I got my Vita on launch day I have used it every single day. Second best gadget I ever bought (after my iPod Classic. I could not survive without that.)

Re: The Vita Thread
My Vita still gets used fairly frequently, although it is getting harder to find decent new games for it, such a shame that Sony themselves just want to abandon the thing.
At least, Namco are bringing Tales of Hearts R to us next month.

Anybody else have an interest in Freedom Wars? I might put it on my Santa list.

I was interested but after hearing some opinions from those out East I've lost interest now. Apparently it launched with a bunch of missing features and had some considerable issues that need patching, something I'd read that wasn't looking likely to happen. That said, I'll still keep an eye out for some feedback now that it's finally arrived on these shores so hopefully some of the previous concerns have been addressed.

Re: The Vita Thread
Time for a bump.
I only found out today that Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines launches next week, not sure how I missed the news seeing as I've been keen on this for a while. Unfortunately it's yet another Vita game that isn't getting a physical release so I'm either going to need to delete some stuff or spunk some cash for another memory card. Then again, given the niche nature of the game I suppose we should be grateful that we're getting it at all.
Anyone else likely to pick this up? I suspect I already know the answer to that question

Re: The Vita Thread
Sadly I only seem to use my Vita to try the odd PS+ title these days, I haven't actually bought a Vita game since Hotline Miami well over a year ago. That'll change soon though with Hotline Miami 2 imminent.
Sorry PH but I haven't even heard of the game you mentioned.

I had a read through the PS Blog post about it and it looks interesting, might wait and get it when it drops in price at some point.PorcusHawk wrote:Time for a bump.

Re: The Vita Thread
My Vita remains my most favourite gaming thing. I have played it every single day since I got it two years ago and I just love it. Games like Hotline Miami and Olli Olli are giving me great humungous slabs of pure pleasure.
I just know I'll be sad at E3 (again) when Sony disavow the existence of poor old Vita and give it "Ooooh, look at the PS4 everyone...PS4, PS4, PS4!!!". I do think Vita is failing and it's just a real shame...and there is no chance we'll ever see a Vita 2, not that we need one, the current device just needs support, a bit of marketing and, above all, decent games.

Yes decent games made specifically for the Vita are really needed. I don't think the Vita will ever be considers a 'success' unfortunately.

Re: The Vita Thread
I don't think we'll see any more games on Vita like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Killzone: Mercenary or Tearaway, it will continue to get Indie games and quirky niche games. That's not a bad thing in itself, just a bit of a waste of a powerful gaming machine.

Yes, I think the days of big release Vita games is in the past. The last I bought was Tearaway.
